Landscape Lighting

Three types of lighting contribute to a beautifully lit space: ambient for sight, accent for aesthetic allure, and scenic to draw attention or highlight special features. Form and function go hand in hand when designing your lighting scheme; a poorly lit pathway can easily become unwelcoming or unsafe, and a beautifully lit feature easily becomes artistry.

Accent

These are perfect if you have a feature you want to highlight, like the exterior walls of your home, hardscape features or trees. Uplighting is just that, a light shining up which creates focus and draws attention.

Moon Lighting - A light placed above that creates a natural glow and soft shadows, like moonlight.

Up Lighting - A light shining up that draws your attention and creates focus.

In-Ground

Enrich your landscape. In-ground lighting can contribute to the overall beauty and function of your landscape; highlighting subtle curves and natural features while increasing safety and security with proper illumination.

Path and Spread

Illuminate your sidewalks, pathways, entryways and patios to provide essential visibility. These shouldn't be a continuous light source but rather provide pools of illumination from one step to another, creating an inviting pathway.

Hardscape

What stands out in the day should also stand out at night. Features like rock gardens, grottos, kitchens, or retaining walls should be included when considering lighting as they add interest and texture to the space.

Deck and Patio

The light required is often determined by the function of the space. Social spaces like decks and patios should be properly lit for safety and proper function.
